Spin A Snack – Orangutan (OES)

Ronda Schwetz and Emily Insalaco asked us to develope our Spin A Snack design to hold up to Orangutan enjoyment and abuse.

Treat-based enrichment provides orangutans and other large non-human primates with cognitive challenges while satisfying the desire to forage. The Spin-A-Snack Orangutan is designed to visually appeal to primate’s curiosity through a discovery challenge with a treat reward. To obtain a treat, the primate must learn how to properly spin the PVC tube, so a treat falls through the hole. NHPs like orangutans, gorillas, bonobo, baboons, and chimpanzees are rough on regular enrichment feeders. Our Orangutan enrichment product is made of thick PVC and rotates on sturdy axles to withstand large primate exploration.  The Spin-A-Snack unit slides into the Universal Orangutan Enrichment System Bracket  for easy mounting and removal for cleaning.

  • Made of thick PVC and polycarbonate
  • Removable treat tube spins on stainless-steel axles
  • Dispenses peanuts, popcorn, and other treats
